Besides medical core literature, monographs and edited volumes, IDEM's Special Library "Ethics in Medicine" encompasses relevant scientific journals on medical ethics and history of medicine.

The full text-archive of the database ETHMED is part of the Special Library. For the user, this means that all articles which are cited in ETHMED are stored in the archive as a full text.

IDEM's special library is a reference library. Unfortunately, it is therefore not possible to issue books. However, the library offers several workplaces and computer terminals. Since IDEM's special library is situated in the same building as the library of the Department of Medical Ethics and History of Medicine, you also have the opportunity to use the Department's stock, which is available on site. The library is worth a visit, since it is in 10-minutes walking distance from the Göttingen State and University Library, where you can find further publications from philosophy, theology, legal and social studies for your work in medical ethics.
